I miss snow. Lots and lots. Funny thing now, everybody in Houston has been obsessed with "winter weather" lately. The forecast was for 31-32 degree weather last night and the slight possibility of some freezing rain overnight. The "worst" forecast was for up to a quarter inch of ice in some spots. A few schools decided to close in anticipation...we woke up this morning, no freezing rain whatsoever, but extremely cold for Houston--32 degrees.
I laughed to myself at all the people wrapped up in huge winter coats (silly people, owning huge winter coats to use maybe once or twice a year--my winter coat lives in Ohio)...with scarfs all wrapped around their faces or those knit face masks.
I walked half an hour each way to school, and I was just fine in a fleece jacket. But it was awfully fun to watch all the funny people freaking out about the winter weather.
I have to admit, though, I'm desperately hoping for this evenings forecast of some slight freezing rain to come true. When we lived in Oklahoma, a quarter inch of snow shut the city down, and it could be great fun to have a "snow day" for some teeny weeny ice patches!!
