Tonight I made granola AND hommous. Not intended to go together, but equally delightful to the tastebuds. :)
mmmmm... savoring the fruits of my labor. grins The hommous fruits. ;)
Now all I need is more vegetables...
edit:: And people. Does someone want to come share it with me...??? :)

Oooooh - pick ME! Pick ME!!!!!!! :)
Amy and I are probably going to make some hummus tomorrow, which I'm very excited about, but it won't be nearly as good as it would have been if we were sharing it with YOU! I miss you...But I am SO infinitely glad for the time I DID get to spend with you! "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us..."
please may i have your hummous recipe?? i made it once...and it was disgusting. :)
hahahaha
well, i have 2. i made it with the one i got from barb's more with less cookbook, so that's the 1st recipe, but because it was a little confusing (i'll explain) i looked up another way to make it, but i haven't tried that one yet. so, here they are.
barb's (more with less):
1 - 19 oz can chick peas (drain and save liquid) --> this is the confusing part... i have yet to fing a 19 oz can. they always come in 14 or 28 oz or something like that. why 19??? it doesn't make any sense. so i end up kind of guessing with the chick peas... a can and a 1/4 or something, or add extra of the other ingredients till you have it the way you want it. have fun. :)
1/4 C tahini (sesame seed paste)
2 cloves garlic (or more!! grins especially if you're kat and amy, who put a whole head of garlic in thinking it was 1 clove. hahaha it ended up being like 12 cloves. we were all healthy. grins)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C lemon juice
*Combine all above ingredients in a blender, adding enough saved chick pea juice :) to make it the consistency you want (not too thin).
variation:
2 cloves garlic (or more)
1/4 C lemon juice
1/4 C water (or i would think you should be able to substitute with chick pea juice)
14 oz (400g) canned chick peas, drained (MUCH more understandable... you could always tried a combination of these recipes and see what you get)
1/2 C tahini
1 tsp salt
*Blend. (AND... if you want to spice it up a little, or make it more interesting, you can add a small red chili or pinch of cayenne pepper or a little cummin for "an exotic flavor". hahahaha Cummin! That's exactly what comes to mind when I think EXOTIC!! grins)
hope it works for you tegani!!
love you!
hey, i actually have a recipe that doesn't call for tahini (which makes it cheaper)--and it's actually good!
e-mail me if you want it.
oo! i want it!!
